Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only player to achieve final poker table in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a big pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest enthusiasts in the world. While wagering on web poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus more often than not buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I know Gus is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is bankrupt, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes most of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be 1 of the greatest poker players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amt.. I believe television can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best players in the world could be players you have won’t have heard of. Gus can be seen playing web poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in high stakes Omaha and texas holdem. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his skills in cash games?
