Howard Lederer lived in a family of 5 where he enjoyed betting on numerous card games when he was young. The real advancement in his abilities began when he started playing at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the best gamblers would often wager against one another. He had access into several of the greatest players in chess. Howard also assisted his sister Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie Duke was a great student of the game as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the proper choice. He told Annie to move out to Sin City and compete in the WSOP competition. She is one of the best female players the poker world today. Howard Lederer headed to Sin City in Nineteen Ninety Three and played money games for the next 10 years. When the WPT grew in popularity, he decided to compete in more tournaments.
