Internet poker has become globally famous recently, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years several variations on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with chemin de fer than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the house instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little bluffing or different kinds of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up prior to the croupier announcing "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different players attain five cards each. After you have seen your hand and the casino’s initial card, you have to in turn make a call bet or accede. The call bet’s value is akin to your original wager, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Giving Up means that your bet goes directly to the casino. After the wager is the face off. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, plus a figure in accordance with the original bet. If the house does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the bank’s hand. The casino pays cash equal to your ante and set expectations on your call bet. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- 3-1 for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
