Over the years many variations on the earliest poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to 21 than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the bank rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up before the dealer saying "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the other players are given five cards each. After the bet is the face off. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, with a sum in accordance with the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The casino pony’s up money equal to your wager and fixed expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
