Poker has become world celebrated recently, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, arcs back in fact a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years several variants on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to 21 than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the dealer instead of each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or different types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the croupier announcing "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the different players receive five cards each. After you have observed your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you must either make a call bet or surrender. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original wager, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your wager goes instantaneously to the bank. After the wager comes the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, with an amount in accordance with the initial wager. If the house does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The dealer pony’s up money equal to your ante and set expectations on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
